Can anyone tell me about the area surrounding the tower hamlets cemetery area? We would like to move here and know the area of Bow, north of bow road, well and love it but can't afford it. We have found a house we love and can afford very close to the cemetery but we don't know this part of bow. Can anyone offer some insight?
Thank you very much!

Hi,
We lived just behind BOw Road station in the mansion blocks for a few years. I loved living there when I was younger and it was a really convenient place to have a newborn. Like you we couldn't afford a house near Victoria Park and worried about local schools and so moved to Essex last year. I always felt pretty safe there (always have all over Bow, more so than in other 'posher' parts of London and it's great being so near the tube station and DLR. Victoria Park is a bit of a hike, but I used to sit in Tredegar Square which I loved. Downside for me was hit and miss services such as doctor and health visitor, as there is such a high level of need around there.
If you like the house, I would say go for it, it's well appointed and becoming much more popular around there. I sometimes really miss it there and would love to go back. When we are richer, I think we'll try to buy a pied a terre in our old block!
