Combi Boiler - how much??

Hi All,

I need to install a combi boiler, and remove the tanks from the old system. All the pipework will stay as is. It's a small terrace house, two bed and one bath.

Any guess how many £££ I need to find?

Thank you!

I'd never want to change to a combi boiler. We've finally got a house with a traditional boiler and water tank and it's fabulous - hot water for everyone :o We used to have a combi and whenever anyone had a shower and someone else turned on a tap somewhere else in the house the shower would stop and the water would then be cold after. There was never enough hot water for a bath either (unless you were happy with 2 inches :o)

We've been quoted £1,800 for a boiler replacement. Add on the cost of removing the redundant tanks and changing the pipework.

But, like Nora, I would stick with a conventional boiler unless there's a really good reason why you can't.

I had a combi in our last flat. It filled several birth-pools without a problem and I loved having a decent hot shower available at all times.
The new boiler is to keep our tenants happy as the old boiler and system has a very crap shower and is difficult if you are dashing off to work.
In that sized house with only two occupants a combi will be fine.
