IKEA DOMSJO double sink - can I have a washing machine on one side - is that possible?

I'd really like an IKEA domsjo double sink, but sort of running out of space on one side of the kitchen, to fit all our appliances. It will fit if I place an ikea fitted dishwasher on one side and the washing machine (normal freestanding with worktop over) on one side but the planner tells me off stating that 'DOMSJO sinks have to be placed with base cabinets or dishwasher or fridge/freezer under worktop on both sides'.

Anyone done this with the sink and the washing machine.

You might need to add some brackets under the worktop to support it because the sink is supported by the worktop so will press down iyswim.

We are fitting the single with an unintegrated dishwasher to the left of it - we will have to use brackets because otherwise the worktop will have no support underneath.

I suggest you download the instructions from the Ikea website and look carefully at how it fits on. The worktop rests on the sink cabinet side panel at the sink end and the sink ledge sits on the worktop. The worktop needs an end panel or wall batten to support it at the other side of the appliance if there isn't another unit. A couple of small angle brackets between the worktop and the outside wall of the sink cupboard wouldn't go amiss to stop everything slipping off. We have an integrated dishwasher right next to the Domsjo cabinet but the worktop doesn't rest on it. You might have fun with the plumbing with both those appliances!

Thanks fossil - I think I have worked around it by moving the sink and making the dishwasher a mini one instead of a full sized one.
