are ceramic floor tiles in a bathroom a bad idea

i was choosing tiles for our bathroom today and really liked a dark grey tile for the floor but the assistant warned me off this as it was ceramic and less hard wearing than porcelain tiles...he showed me an alternative in porcelain but it wasn't really the same. When I asked him what he meant by less hard wearing he said they would break if you dropped something like a hammer on them....I am kind of thinking in a bathroom this is v low risk, not like a kitchen where you are using all kinds of heavy bits of stuff and it wouldn't be inconceivable that you could drop a cast iron casserole dish or something.

does anyone have these kinds of tiles as a bathroom floor and have they been problematic?
