Re-covering a unit

Hi can anyone help me? I have a tv unit which we have had a while, uts sturdy and just the right size for the gap it sits in, however being homebase furniture (mdf covered to look beech) and having moved a few times, it has a few bumps knocks and Scratches, as it is still sturdy i was wanting to cover it rather than replace it.

It has a glass door with silver detail, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any film or even replacement beech adhesive film stuff i could use?

Its not anything I cant live with but id like to refresh the unit as its the only thing which annoys me in the room. I'd replace the unit but we cant afford to right now.

TIA, BB

Link.
You can buy veneer, and re veneer it, although I have never done this myself. Its not too bad a price, and I suppose if you only need edging strips it is very cheap.

There are sprays and kits you can get (think changing rooms and ESP) that you can apply and will then be able to paint the unit, but again I haven't used them so not sure if they are effective.
