Turning garage into room + store. How big does the storage area need to be?

Following on from another thread I posted, if you owned this house, noting the garage is 5.36m (17'7) x 2.51m (8'3), how deep would you need the store to be in order to store:

4 bikes and paraphernalia like helmets and racks
Scooters/skateboards
wellies + hiking boots (maybe)
Some hand tools
Water softener salt blocks
A fair bit of camping stuff (family of 4 tent and gazebo)
cans of paint/DIY cleaning and fixing stuff
A single trailer!- BUT I think I could leave that at mum's.

I want to know where to put the dividing wall to make the storage worthwhile but retaining enough living space!

The kitchen looks quite generous. Is there any scope for moving the back wall from the garage further into the kitchen - say up to the back door; you could then convert the door into a window, as there is no other window there already? This would give you more space to play with at the front for a store.

Everyone on our street have split their garage into a room and store. Mine is 50/50 making a utility, next door have used the area that an up and over garage door takes as the store. That has left them a nice size room and enough storage for what you are talking about except the trailer. If you measure the height of the door and add a couple of inches you will get the size I'm talking about, I think its about 1.5m.

Part of the trick is organising that storage space well, so thouse big hook thingys on the walls for as much as you can, shelving for all the little bits and stack and store boxes for the camping gear so that it only takes a small footprint but lots of storage.

Thanks all- sorry, shiney, should have said on this thread as I did the other that the house is identical but a) more nicely decorated than ours and b) the back of the kitchen is the utility room in our house. The back door is in the same place, though!
