Hi,

We're thinking of moving to North Bristol for work, does anyone know of any good areas north of Bristol / surrounding area, I prefer to live in the country and could commute for an hour or so without difficulty.

Thanks!

North of Bristol, you're looking at South Gloucestershire or the Cotswolds for rural within an hour, unless you were up for going over the bridge into Wales. Would you be commuting into central Bristol or the outskirts, as that'll make a big difference to commute times.

I like Thornbury, Stroud, Cirencester and Chepstow as market towns to either live in or be in a village quite close to.

Thank you, it's very North Bristol, just off the M5, M4 junction, literally 5 mins from the motorway.

Ah yes, my DH works in that area. We live very close by, he only has a 5-10 minute commute, in a very nice village.

Cotswolds is generally prettier, but I like South Glouc, where we are isn't cheap because we're so close to Bristol, but a bit further out you can get a lot of space. My preference is to be within easy striking distance of a town though, hence the list above.

with South Glos be careful as many villages are in the flood areas there.
