Go ahead and sell or back out?

We're due to exchange tomorrow, problem is the sellers of our new property are fecking about. The deal was they were not in a chain and were ready to go, now it seems they've decided to buy and are wailing about delaying until their survey is done. Initially the story was they were moving abroad.

Our buyers have to exchange tomorrow or lose their mortgage deal and we got a good price off them.

So basically tomorrow do we go ahead with our sale even if there's still doubt about the new house?

In this market, if you know you want to move, then sell. There really aren't that many buyers around. Rent if you have too. You'll be in a good position for buying another place if this house falls through.

If you don't think you'd find anywhere else as suitable as the house you've offered on then that's trickier.

Thanks Goose this is what's worrying me, if we pull out God knows when and if we'd get another buyer.

Unfortunately there isn't anything out there for us at the moment and we felt lucky to get this accursed house (bloody bidding war which we bloody won).It is perfect though in that it's big with loads of potential and in a v good catchment area. Hens teeth etc.

You've backed dh up though as his gut is to sell also.

I agree, get your house sold and rent.

The hardest part of moving at the moment is getting your own house sold. If your new house falls through, well it will be a PITA and of course you are paying rent but there will be another house you can buy. There may not be another buyer if you have to go back on the market.
