Leather beds - do they last?

Considering leather for our new bed. DH very much sold on the idea (Probably imagines we'll be getting one with an inbuilt telly!). I love the look of them but my inner scrooge is wondering if they last or if we'll be replacing it in 5 years. Anyone any experience of these?

We have a leather sleigh bed type one and have had it about 5 years and it's still going strong.

I also have a leather sleigh bed I have it for nearly 7 years and is still in great condition.
