stupid questions about worktops

want to replace my worktop in the utility room. the units are standard size kitchen units, can i use an ikea worktop? realise this may be a very stupid question but someone help please!!

It's not a stupid question at all. I used to design and fit kitchens, so have heard loads of questions, some sillier than others.

Anyhow, as they're standard kitchen units you can use any 900mm wide worktop. You need to decide what sort of use they're going to get before specifyig the thickness. For solid wood and laminate I would go 35mm, but for granite/composite you could possibly get away with 22mm. So yes, you can use an Ikea worktop, as long as it is 900 wide. :)

If the units are standard size, eg - units 560 deep then you'll only need a standard 600 deep worktop - if going for wood most are delivered at 650 deep so just shave the back off to whats needed.
If you have ikea units then howdens do 650 deep laminates

yes the Pragel 62cm worktops are fine, we have those in our utility on top of ordinary non ikea units.

Sorry, I did mean 600 not 900. 900 is for breakfast bars. Blush
