A couple of things

We live on a fairly busy road, and when certain vehicles pass, for instance huge recovery trucks, our house vibrates quite a lot. Should we report this to the council?

Also, our house is quite old and we have damp problem on the front wall, which the previous occupant masked by putting up a false wall. We think that the problem is because the road has been built up over the years and now the level of the inside of the house is below road level. Could we ask the council to investigate this for us?

If not, how much does it cost for a damp survey.

When we bought the place, we only had the basic survey done (silly, I know!) and it was noted that there was 'evidence of damp'. We were granted a mortgage without having to retain any money to sort it out so I am assuming it couldn't have been so bad.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

I don't know the answer, but our house vibrates when heavy vehicles go past too.
