My bank used them for the valuation survey and then they contact you to sell you a homebuyer's report or a building survey. They then allocate work to their list of surveyors. Remember to haggle - you will get a discount. Slightly offputting double glazing sales technique - high initial price followed by a discounted price and then more if you ask for it!

We used them once and for reasons I can no longer remember were v impressed. So much so that we later pleaded with out bank on another sale to accept a valuation from them rather than the one we were automatically allocated.

Only surveyors we've ever had who haven't been idiots. Better than the last one we had who couldn't even date an Edwardian housec correctly!

Yes, they are chartered surveyors. Make sure they are on your bank's lending panel if it is you going for a mortgage.
