Has anyone used a wall bed/murphy bed?

We're overcrowded and as a solution are thinking about putting a murphy bed in the lounge and giving the kids the bedrooms. Has anyone used/owned one. Are they any good for regular every night use?

My in laws have one. It was fitted by a carpenter and looks like built in cupboards when it's in the wall. It's great! Think about bedside tables and where to put the bedding when it's away.
