Kitchen handle advice - what do you think about this?

I really like the cup style kitchen handles - like this

I've noticed in kitchen pictures they only use them on drawers, not cupboards. I'd like to use them on cupboards too (like a plain country ivory style), as I don't want too many drawers.

Would it look stupid?

what material are you looking at?
solid pewter is 'ouch' £'s

I'm not sure yet, I don't like anything too polished so shiny chrome types are out. I don't really like any of those on the link I put up but I'll shop around, but I like a sort of old antique brass (but not the yellow sort) look.

I think they're fine on the top of a cupboard door going down (like an n IYSWIM), but not in the middle of the door to the side (like a ( or an ) IYSWIM!)
