House prices as listed - reality?

Do houses in the South East actually go for what they are listed for or is it just optimism by the owners?

Depends. If its a sought-after area then it can be a seller's market. Where are you looking?

Hoopsadazy · 22/05/2012 20:23

near a good school ;) So, seller's market then....

But what's all this nonsense wher the agent lists it as £210000-£235000?

Surely no one will pay £235k in that instance?

You wouldn't have thought so!!

Hoopsadazy · 22/05/2012 22:11

Are they expecting the high amount though and agents just list it at the lower amount so that people searching websites have it show up when they put a lower limit in? You know, to entice them to spend more?

Just keep looking at places and thinking 'really? that's how much you wnat for THAT?'

i live in south east and feel the same. then look at houses elsewhere and could be so much better off!

i know, but what do people who don't work in London do? I struggle to find any jobs elsewhere or would move as this is not a great way to live.
