Amazing you can get something so beautiful with such massive gardens, but it's about a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. (5 minutes to Waitrose Grin)

And incredible value if you compare it to London.

Look here!

Shame it's nearly 10 times what I can afford! Oh well ...

It is nice...but where's the picture of the kitchen and why are there dogs in 2 of them??

oreocrumbs · 20/05/2012 22:28

Ooh tis pretty. Its under offer though so you will have to be quick!

Think I can answer the dog thing - if they are anything like one of mine, she leaps in front of any camera and poses Hmm very cute if not annoying when its my pfb I want to photograph Grin

Kellamity · 20/05/2012 22:30

Yes I agree where's the kitchen? Very nice though!

crazyhead · 21/05/2012 09:31

It is huge, so surely you could start up some kind of boarding house to pay the wanging mortgage? There must be someone who'll lend you on that, as long as you can cope with the morning fry-ups!

Sushiqueen · 21/05/2012 10:12

I think picture 6 is the kitchen !! it does say in the details there is scope for improvement where the kitchen is concerned :)

tostaky · 21/05/2012 10:22

Blimey!!! you would need a full-time cleaner and gardener with a house like that one!!!
Agree it is "cheap" for what it is compared to London!!!

Sidge · 21/05/2012 10:25

Aah, I got drunk and slept in Gildredge Park once. (went to school in Eastbourne)

But I don't like the house particularly. Some of the rooms are wonderful (I especially like the hallway) but some of them look too big and bare.

clam · 21/05/2012 10:35

Those bedrooms need large rugs!

Butterflyface · 21/05/2012 10:46

Ha - Sidge, I might know you! I live in E/b and went to secondary here, for my sins. Currently trying to sell our maisonette about half a mile away - anyone interested? :) (Not a patch on that, so that was very tongue-in-cheek!)

frostyfingers · 21/05/2012 10:46

No picture of the kitchen because it's "ready for improvement" - ea speak for "slum" I expect.

Also for that price of house I'd expect the animals not to be in the photos, and if it were mine I'd have mown the lawn and moved the football. The garden looks so scruffy!

threeleftfeet · 21/05/2012 17:26

"It is huge, so surely you could start up some kind of boarding house to pay the wanging mortgage?" ooh I like your thinking crazyhead Grin

I love the windows in the upstairs rooms, the wooden frames and panels underneath. I am covetting the house, but lusting over the windows Grin

hermionestranger · 21/05/2012 17:29

I love it. Can someone lend me the money? I could definitely see myself loving there.

threeleftfeet · 21/05/2012 17:29

Ah but frostyfingers this is why it should be my house, not yours. I love the pics of the dogs and the garden looks beautiful as it is to me! Grin

"Currently trying to sell our maisonette about half a mile away - anyone interested? "

Well yes! We are househunting in Eastbourne. However suspect we can't afford yours either - our budget is teeny tiny! (About £150K).

S'lovely... nice selection of pets and a swimming pool Wink.

Seriously though, I do think it's lovely.

slacklucy · 21/05/2012 21:51

oh I love that area, i once lived in a slum on Compton street

Butterflyface · 24/05/2012 07:02

bugger - threeleftfeet! Ours is on for 200k, but it's a 3 bed maisonette in Lower Meads with a field attached, so I think it's quite a bargain - it's still the 2nd cheapest in 1/4 mile. We'll be moving to renting for a few years until we know what's going on with Dh's work and my health.
It's a beautiful flat, and I'll be sad to go, but we need practicality rather than views of the Town Hall! :)

threeleftfeet · 24/05/2012 15:32

Yes, it would be nice wouldn't it - "sorry Estate agent, I simply can't give you your whacking great fee, as I found my own private buyer via mumset" Grin

"3 bed maisonette in Lower Meads with a field attached" I bet it's lovely :)

Do you get the dog too?

Couldn't get a bloody rabbit hutch around here for that price (grumble, moan)

howaboutorange · 24/05/2012 20:47

butterflyface are you in grange gardens? I used to live there. We're in Brighton now, but have just sold our house. We are considering moving to Eastbourne as the sort of house we want would cost £500k or more here. Are you happy in Eastbourne. The thought of making the kids move schools makes me feel ill though....

DelGirl · 25/05/2012 18:24

LOVELY, I used to live in a building like that, sadly only had a studio flat in one of the turrets though!
