Curtain pelmets - mdf or hessian?

We've had 2 quotes for the bay windows in our sitting room and there is a huge difference in cost. The main difference (but not all) is the cost of the pelmet.

The cheaper company have recommended covering hessian with interlining and fabric for this and the expensive one, using mdf covered with interlining and then our chosen fabric.

We want quite a clean, crisp look if that matters. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts or experience to share? Thank you.

MDF will give you a crisper look. A soft pelmet such as hessian or buckram is prone to curling unless you have a very heavy trimming along the bottom. Sounds like trimmings are not your thing..Smile

Go for mdf but get more quotes, mdf is not an expensive material so the pelmet itself shouldnt be too pricey.
