Can anyone recommend a trustworthy roof repairer in Glos ?

My mum lives between Westbury-on-Severn and Cinderford.

Her bungalow roof has a small leak. A chap has been and tried to make repairs a couple of times, but failed. So far she has paid out £400, and still has to put a bucket under the bedroom doorway if it's raining hard.

He has quoted her to remove the concrete tiles, replace the felt, then put back the same tiles (he'll provide new ones to replace any that are broken) on the front of the house only, £2400

We have no idea if his price is good or not, but we are not filled with confidence in him, and would like to get 2 or 3 more quotes.

So does anyone know of a good company or tradesman who could do this work?

BTW she allowed a guy to quote her for roof coating yesterday. She was quite impressed by the idea, but I don't think it has any merit. Hence I want to try and find her a proper builder/roofer to quote to do a proper repair or re-roof.

I used to be in this business, in Glos many many years ago.

I'll PM you with the names of the Roofers I knew then who had the best reputations - and also some to avoid (cowboys, bad debtors etc). You should then be able to find them on Google etc.

Also try RatedPeople with their names.

Like I said it will be old info (like 15 years old ) but may help.

I have a friend who is a roof tiler but he lives in Bucks (just outside Milton Keynes). If you just wanted to check out the quote with him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
