How to Harry Potter-fy DSs room.

I've spent ages making DDs room very pink and pretty. Now it's Dss turn. He wants a Harry Potter bedroom which is proving much more difficult and pricey! Ideas for all things Potter or Wizard-like?

Easy: let him move into the cupboard under the stairs! Grin

Seriously, I think it could go 2 ways: either really tacky with lots of merchandise crap goods like HP curtains and sheets or quite spectacular with a 4 poster bed (or a bunk bed painted dark brown?) with curtains and a trunk by the bed, an owl cage, etc.!

A lot of the vintage accessories that are so fashionable should come in handy and double up nicely as quill holders. You could even get away with a lot of 2nd hand stuff if you want the Weasley look!

I'm getting carried away here, I think my son's room will need a makeover soon and he better chooses a Harry Potter theme!

Dd has a fantastic map of hogwarts and village that came in I think 12 a4 pieces which we've stuck to wall with spray adhesive. She has a gryffndor banner that she bought at the studio tour. She also has a wanted poster (Sirius black). Apart from that her room is just neutral. Which will be handy when she moves onto next "thing". Was all bunting and pink cushions until recently.

Stars on the ceiling, like the ceiling in the Great Hall at Hogwarts, bewitched to look like the sky. Spell words stencilled on the walls?

You are a creative bunch! Definately don't want to go to commercial. Think I need to visit a few second hand shops :)
