Looking to buy a 2 bed flat for access to west wittering beach at the weekends. Any tips on areas/villages to search? -- would like somewhere quiet and upmarket - dont mind 15-20 min drive to beach - also areas to avoid? wondering if we should look to be near Chicester town centre for eating out in evenings etc or if this would be too expensive? - what are the nicer suburbs or villages?

On the hottest days in summer it can be a nightmare driving down to wittering beach. you could look at the stockbridge/ donnington area, which if you are looking at a map here is south of the a27 and south of the train station, as it is on the witterings road. It's a 15 minute walk to chichester ( you could go along the canal), and a 30 minute bike ride if you wanted to wittering . Fishbourne is nice, only a few minutes outside chichester, but not alot shop wise there - you'd need to drive for snack stuff.Bosham very nice but may be pricey. avoid the whyke estate and barnfield drive area in chichester. summersdale to the north of chichester is good, and some nice places in the little roads in the triangle of market avenue/whyke lane and the railway line. hope that helps. I am in selsey.

Just had a snoofty on right move - you're going to struggle to find a two bed flat for £150 000 around chichester and surrounding areas - that's the price for one bed, two bed is nearer 175 000. That bewick gardens flat in your other post is not very far from the hospital. could you either up your budget or have a one bed with sofa bed? both those starting prices are the minimum for 1/2 bed flats.
