Does anyone know how long (roughly) it takes to obtain consent to let from a mortgage provider? Thanks

I went through this about 3 and a half years ago. As I recall, it only took a few days - I went into the local branch of the bank in question and filled out the forms. However, be aware that the consent only lasts a limited period 9in my case 3 years), and it is probable that it will not be renewed. When it runs out you will be put on a standard variable rate mortgage, possibly with a premium added to it to bring it up to the level of a buy to let mortgage. It would be worth spending the intervening period shopping around, with the help of a financial adviser, to find a good, longer-term deal.
