As the title says. These people have the exact cast iron bath I want and it's over £1000 cheaper than most others.

So I want to know if they are any good and what you have bought from them before.

Am desperate to know as this is the only way to get this style of bath within the budget. DH has agreed but wants to know if they are good quality.

Bath is the bateau polished. www.periodstyle.co.uk/product/Bateau_Cast_Iron_Bath_BGL761.

Sorry cant link properly on phone.

Skandi1 - did you end up buying the bath from periodstyle and, if so, were you happy with it? I have also seen a bath on thier website that I would like to buy.

Hi. Yes i did. They have a 14 day full refund returns policy so I decided to take the plunge.

I ordered the Bateau bath in polished. It's stunning.

You have probably seen catchpole and ryes, drummonds and fired earths polished baths? They Are all very highly and finely polished so they look chrome like. This bath comes out a little more matte like brushed stainless steel which is what I wanted as I have ordered stainless steel taps shower and bath filler for the new bathrooms.

You don't have to get the polished one but the painted ones I think would also be stunning. It's shape is stunning and the enamel looks a good quality.

I had looked at the matte polished bath at Cast Iron Bath Company at almost £3000 and this one looks as good at half the price.

Only thing is its 230kg which is heavier than the ones you can get at places like Aston Matthews but its an awful lot cheaper.

Once bathrooms are done then I will post some photos. That will be about a month from now.

Just what I wanted to hear, thank you! Think I will go probably go for the art deco style roll top as I have chosen art deco taps etc. although the polished baths do look lovely. Good to know that they have a returns policy etc.
I gave them a call for a bit more information and managed to get the name of the manufacturers so after a bit of research I am convinced they are good quality and well made.
I did notice that they are really heavy - and that's before they are full of water! They advised that at least four people would be needed to carry it into the house!
Would be good to see pictures once you have fininshed.

Art deco taps sound lovely. Yes I hunted down the manufacturer too before I bought and I spoke to them.

I am very happy as this was the only way I could get a polished cast iron bath. I had seen a similar one in Fired Earth and they wanted £7000 for it!

It will probably be about 3 or 4 weeks before I post photos as its a couple of week yet before works start.

Sorry - just seen you are still waiting. Hope it's going well.

Just want to add a word of warning to this thread about Periodstyle.co.uk
I have been waiting for them to restore some radiators for me and the service has been awful. They promised turn around in 2-3 weeks but I haven't had them back yet and we are in week 6. I keep being told that they are ready and will be sent only to learn that for some spurious reason they still haven't been shipped. The manager is a joke. Be warned!
