It looks fine if you like the modern sort. I'm a 'country kitchen' woman. All welsh dressers and agas Grin, but it looks fine.

workshy · 08/05/2012 16:15

have you seen them in real life?

I don't think you can really tell from brochures

annalouiseh · 08/05/2012 17:10

kutchenhaus - sell these, they have a few showrooms over the place

if you do go look at them, look very close at the door, also lift the door off the hinge to feel its weight, the weight can show you the quality of the door material
when me and dh was in there he did and alot of there doors are paper weight and again....most are pvc edged

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 08/05/2012 18:11

I too am the country kitchen type Grin so its not my type of kitchen but i think it looks mod, fresh and sleek. I would however be concerned about it "dating" quite quickly as it is so modern.

PassTheTwiglets · 08/05/2012 19:04

I'd be worried about the gloss showing fingerprints and forever having to polish the doors.

isitmidnightalready · 08/05/2012 23:12

Looks very nice to me as long as your room is that big.

QueenMaeve · 09/05/2012 21:01

Love it. I have a Very minimalist kitchen as I knew the cream handpainted type wouldn't last a crack in our house( 5 dc). I don't have gloss in the kitchen but my utility room is white gloss, dead handy to keep as its also my craft room and gets plenty of splashes of paint.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 09/05/2012 21:04

Love it, would love all that space. But as others have said, it might be hard to keep all that glossy stuff fingerprint free!

Ghanagirl · 10/05/2012 18:33

Thanks for feedback, we live in London so going for modern urban look, I love it

I'm looking at kitchens and am of the impression/thoughts that since shiny kitchens have been around for 5 or more years now and are starting to be advertised and sold by everyone inc. the big metal boxes, then they are on their way to being out of fashion.

With that in mind and my tastes as well, I'm personally looking at matt doors instead, though they are harder to find as not as common yet (which should hopefully future proof the look for the next several years).

Of course I could be completely wrong

Staverton · 19/05/2012 09:27

Personally I would go for Matt white I think
Gloss is starting to date
Check out roundhouse designs for ideas
Schuller do a Matt white handleless very reasonable (if you are in west London Keith at westlondonkitchens is excellent and will take you to see actual kitchens on homes)

claudedebussy · 20/05/2012 18:55

i have a modern glossy kitchen a bit along the lines of that.

i have 3 small dc's, one of whom is learning to walk so generally smearing baked beans over everything.

i have no problem with the glossy cabinets. they wipe clean in an instant and i don't have to do it very often.

it looks fantastic if i say so myself.

claudedebussy · 20/05/2012 18:56

gloss is passé eh?

myron · 20/05/2012 20:54

I've seen these in homebase who have started selling them in the last 12 mths - they look very nice in RL. I prefer gloss to matt units btw - more practical to clean especially with young DC.
