This house is naff beyond belief - I've watched it being built - and its a source of huge amusement that the market has collapsed around its ears.

I wonder if getting stories about it in the Daily Fail are part of the marketing ploy?

the entered without force/didn't break in/it was open when I got here ruse is commonly used by travellers who invade the field behind my house most years.

At 8pm the gate is closed and padlocked. At 8:01 person A breaks off the padlock and pushes the gate open. At 8:02 person B, with a truck, a caravan, a family of 12 and thirty close friends who also have trucks caravans and familes, while driving by, happen to stop next to the gate and observe that it is unlocked. They then drive onto the field and by 8:05 are in occupation of it, and declare that they entered without force through an open gate.

Nobody seems to know anything about person A.

the joke is that the particular house regularly has doors, gates and windows left open and its not finished and its unsellable !
I reckon the whole thing was a ploy to get pictures of it in a national paper

Could be a bit of both! The article reads like an estate agents window so perhaps!

I'm just thinking, if I were in the market for they type of house I would buy a nice historic mansion, not a footballer's wife's wet dream, I would be put off to know that it had squatters in!

And I thought that the squatters making a home clause in the law only applies to a vacant building, not one under active renovation/still being built? It all sounds a bit odd thats for sure Grin

a couple of my gym friends HAVE the money to buy that place - and at least one seriously considered it, but the whole layout is aimed at "entertaining" rather than actually living in. The housekeeper's kitchen is better laid out than the main one !
