Relocating to Lancashire

Help, in the next couple of months I'm probably going to have to relocate from Surrey to Preston/Blackburn.

Which areas should I try and rent in and where do I avoid?

I went to Clitheroe Grammar @Ixia, you would have been a 5th year when I started . I live near Chorley now which is great for amenities and commuting but home will always be the Ribble Valley! Great night out too clitheroe, so many nice bars now, especially with the Holmes Mill development.
