Hackney

Thinking of moving there. Bit scared by lack of tube, but like the community vibe, mixture of people & Victorian houses.

Any opinions from people who live (or have recently lived) there?

A very close family member lives there and absolutely loves it. She has 2 children at school in Hackney and is really happy with it.

Sorry - should have said - we lived in Stoke Newington a few years, so I do know Hackney. Just wondering if any Hackney mums could give me an insiders view on the good, bad and ugly of 'hackney proper'.

Looking around Vicky Park/London Fields and the yummier areas, but also at Clapton. I know the crime rate is high etc - but what is it really like living in these areas?
