What should I be asking, looking out for in a prospective property?

what are you looking for?
a doer upper?
home to move right into?
use all your senses - feel draft? - smell mold? see cracks, water damage?

a lot depends on what you are looking for and/or are prepared to live with.

How long it has been on the market. Prices similar houses nearby have fetched recently. Are two that spring to mind. I think there is a lot of useful info like this on www.mouseprice.com

Sorry should have said that I'm visiting a house on Monday.

Thankfully I'm taking my brother with me as I've woken up with a cold today and won't be doing much smelling!!
