Im having a wallpaper dilemma, and wonder if somebody would be able to advise: I want this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hemingway-Designer-Vintage-Deco-Diamond-Wallpaper-Blue-Green-Cream-/190607790896#vi-content

but dont really like feature walls....My bedroom is big, with 3.2m ceilings so its a LOT of pattern, but one wall is all windies and the other is a big wardrobe - could the room wear the paper? or..would the paper be wearing the room?

it would make my eyes go weird i think

i wouldn't mind seeing it on a bigger wall, just to see what its like

thisisyesterday · 27/04/2012 11:58

oh just seen they have more pics!

thisisyesterday · 27/04/2012 11:58

actually i quite like it, and the pattern is much bigger IRL than I thought it would be, so i reckon if you love it then go for it

AliveSheCried · 27/04/2012 17:03

i do love it, but im a bit of a tight arse, and would have to buy 12 rolls......for a potential mistake, and im not even in this house yet so canny decide.....

I don't really like it. It has feecha wall written all over it. Reckon it was designed specifically with 'Them' in mind. Also a bit cold for a bedroom.

Rhubarbgarden · 28/04/2012 05:15

I'm not sure it's a very relaxing choice for a bedroom.

nooka · 28/04/2012 05:35

It looks very very 70's futuristic to me. I'm afraid I don't like it at all, and I think it would do odd things to my eyes. also I really wouldn't be buying wallpaper (or choosing paint colours) for a house I hadn't moved into as I think you need to get a feel for the light before knowing what will work.

mathanxiety · 28/04/2012 07:00

Yikes.

I agree with Nooka about the light.

AliveSheCried · 28/04/2012 19:58

oh, its OK, its my house, Ive owned ot for fifteen years, just returning home to the UK after renting it out.

you are right though...it might not be bedroom friendly...i just loved the idea of my 1930s dressingtable in front of it....
I will look on

but feature wals, pretty crap, eh? they always look like you cant afford the wallpaper :o

Arts and Crafts wallpapers here that might compliment your 1930s dressing table.

I agree with you about feature walls.

I do really like it but not s much for a bedroom. These are kind of similar but more bedroomy, I think.

blue

green

Of the vintage 'thing to do' was paper up to a dado or picture rail...
