Estate agent incommunicado

House on market for some weeks with no viewings and no contact whatsoever from agent.

Spurred on by advice on here I emailed the agent at the end of last week, still no reply / call / anything.

AIBU to think he might get back to me?

why email rather than a phone call or, better, a visit to the office?

IAmRubyLennox · 23/04/2012 14:07

because I am a class A wimp.

call in, he'll probably feel obligated to be nice to you.

I would demand they rip up your contract and go with a different agent. No contact or viewings in weeks!? That is outrageous.

Do you realise how much money you will be putting in their pocket for doing absolutely nothing if you sell? Might spur you on to getting a bit cross with them!!

Have they put your house on rightmove etc? I ruled out estate agents who didn't have someone answering the phone at all times, if I couldn't get through to them easily I figured potential buyers couldn't either.

IAmRubyLennox · 23/04/2012 20:07

Yep, it's on rightmove and everything else you would expect. I know it's early days and I know the market is slow, but I do expect some level of communication, and I expect them to respond when I've contacted them.

In my job, if a parent left a message for me with a concern or query about their child, and I didn't bother to call them back, I would be in deep trouble.

Call them.

Tell them exactly how often you expect them to contact you.

I'd be concerned if I was getting no feedback.
