Tell me more about Chesham in Buckinghamshire ; anyone? ..actually lived nearby as a Child but imagine things have changed a little.. I will be moving there in August with 4 dc 11, 8, 6, 4 and one on the way; what is it like for families schools etc? Heard it can be a little more 'rough' than the rest of Bucks , but baring in mind I spent a good deal of my childhood on an inner city high rise estate, I guess it's a matter of perspective?

The centre of Chesham is rough. There are some segregation issues (some locals charmingly call it "banglachesh"). The area above the park and towards chesham bois are quite nice though. Chesham high is a rough school by local standards, but it's actually quite good. Challoners' boys and girls are awesome schools that take students from that area. The Amersham school is another adequate school. I wouldn't go out there at night, but apart from that it's not so rough as many other areas I have experienced, and there are some really nice houses that you wouldn't get in places like Amersham or afford anywhere else in that area.

Chesham isn't the nicest part of Bucks I'm afraid but Chesham Bois just half a mile up the hill towards Amersham commands a much higher property price.

Would be interested for an update after 10 years Mnetters!
