Preparing for EA valuation

This is probably a very silly question but dh and I disagree on how to prepare for the EAs' visits to value the house before we out it on the market.

I say it should be like preparing for a viewing and that the house should be pristine and dh says that is ridiculous and that they don't care about that at all.

He is a sahd and, though he does more than his fair share of housework, his approach is to let it get as messy as happens and then clean up once I am back home. I don't think he'd let it get in a right state if he was expecting EA's but I'm betting it will be fairly messy with toys on the floor, coats left on the dining table instead of hung up (WHY does he do that Angry?) etc.

Will this matter? I can't help thinking that EAs are only human and will be more excited about our property if it looks its best when they first visit. Who's right?

A bit of both really. As tidy as you can possibly make it. A few bits and pieces lying around won't affect the valuation. If they are doing photos the the place must be as for viewings.
