I have a solid mahogany wardrobe that is about 100 years old, i don't want to get rid of it but want to give it a makeover as it doen't fit in with our decor . What could i paint it in?

Thank-you

Oh NK346f284+++ surely you can find it a home somewhere? Its real wood, its dark and beautiful, how can you think of painting it? Can't you let it dictate a French provincial feel to another bedroom?

Um was beginning to have second thoughts! it is solid wood and waxed so smells nice!

It would go well with the antique style metal bed we have, perhaps a re-jig of bedrooms is needed then.

Should you decide to paint it then Annie Sloan does a great selection of paint colours and she has developed a furniture paint which requires no prep of the wood before hand...so great for waxed, varnished woodwork etc!

What you could do, if not painting the outside, is line the inside with a pretty wallpaper...this would at least give it a mini makeover....
