Please help me understand water charges in South East

Hi!

We are moving from Scotland to the Fleet area in June.

We know the council tax cost each month and I am just wondering about the water cost (as it's all inclusive in Scotland).

Can anyone tell me how much this is likely to be? Are there two costs, one for providing water and then one for waste water?

I know I can ask the Estate Agent but just wondered if anyone can explain!

Thanks in advance.

We pay sewerage costs to one company and water( metered) to another.

Have lived in lots of places in SE London and Kent. Sometimes paid water and sewage to one company, sometimes to two (outside London).
I think that most of our entire annual water & sewage bills have been less than £500 and probably generally around the £360- £400 pa.
Not sure if it's based on house size or varies by location.

I live in Maidstone and before I had a meter I paid 25 for fresh water and 25 for sewerage a month. Now I am on a meter I pay 15 and 11.

If you know the local water company, give them a call and they can probably give you estimate based on house and family size. In Essex, you are forced to have a meter when you move house, even if the vendor wasn't.

We have one bill for supply based on usage measured by meter. the second bill is from another company and calculated on usage as they are notified by the first company.
