Looking to see if anyone has any previous experience?
I am about to have some windows replaced in my house, old sash windows replaced with lovely new timber sash ones. However I currently have plantation shutters on them, which I love and want to keep. However, the company installing the windows have said they wont have anything to do with taking them down and putting back up. The surveyor said that they did it once and it turned into a nightmare for them. I assume this is because the measurements will be slightly different to the old ones?
The guy said to 'get a chippie in' to sort it, but I'm not sure that is the right way to go about it, and I assume doesn't guarantee if the old shutters really wont fit the new frame? Has anyone had any experience of this or any insight into what measurements they need before installing. I don't really want to pay out for a whole new set.
Advice appreciated!
