I like my kitchen's warm light oak quite plain shaker style units and the worksurface is ok too (darkish but warm toned) but overall the whole thing now looks a bit shabby and dated. The walls are creamish (Dulux Barley Twist kitchen paint) and could easily be repainted. The wall tiles are glossy honeysuckle/orangeish (chosen while pregnant 10 years ago!!!) and I'm sure could be much nicer and the vinyl floor is ok but now worn through - creamish tile effect. What sort of floor and tiles would be better? DH hates the matt limestone effect wall tiles ("look dirty" according to him) and metro brick type tiles look odd as the wall cabinets have glass doors etched with small squares. Would cream glossy tiles be ok or too boring? Any design advice much appreciated preferably not too expensive. The kitchen isn't that bright either. Thanks
