Our upstairs neighbour, who lives abroad, rented his property through Belvoir and they were utterly appalling. The tenants had no end of problems with the flat, which Belvoir failed to inform the owner about, and when I had to contact them about an emergency affecting the whole building, they were worse than useless. Mind you, he went with another supposedly more reputable agency after that and they were also crap.

Well ive decided not to go for it. They want £60 for the application and then another £60 since im on HB so would need a guarentaur. Then they want more for pets and even if i pay all that they still might not let me rent the house. So needless to stay im keeping well clear

No experience of Belvoir but it is quite standard to pay for the initial checks with the possibility of losing it. We rent through Reeds Rains and had to pay £200 for our checks. We knew our credit files were ok though and they told us it would be CCJs or bankruptcy that would affect the tenancy not any defaults.
