So much mingin bedroom furniture out there...

I am doing a loft conversion, starting in a couple of weeks. So far I have bought the bed which is a super king with a tall creamy headboard, and faffed around with F&B colour charts (am liking Joa's white).
As the carpet will also be creamy beige, I wanted wooden bedside tables and chest of drawers to bring some warmth and depth of colour to the room. But there is only HORRID stuff out there. Boxy and dull and uninspiring. Seems not to have moved on since I was 15 and last shopping for bedroom furniture. My eyes are hurting from looking at some of them.

Has anyone please for the love of God got any links to or names of shops that do beautiful, well made, aesthetically pleasing bedroom furniture?

How about not buying new furniture but going for antique instead? Local auctions, small ads, gumtree, ebay all worth keeping an eye on.

I am loving your work. Yes antique could be highly good. I would probably get a better quality of wood & craftsmanship. Also I don't mind things that look pre-loved.

I agree go for antique, better made and more individual. Also worth looking at Graham and Green, I love their furniture but v expensive.

Another vote for antique. We've bought some lovely pieces from both antique markets and eBay.

I can also recommend this company for nice, good value new wooden furniture Tree Frog

Not sure of your taste really, but I like the look of this wood furniture. Not bought through them yet though!

I like some of the Tree Frog stuff and also Graham and Green.

Budget is £500 for the two tables so not huge but hopefully enough to get something nice.

Does anyone know of good antique dealers around SW London/Surrey (who will not fleece us)?

Consider auction houses, usually much cheaper than antique shops Wink

If it's not too far for you, Crystal Palace Antiques Market on Jasper Road is good. We've bought lots there.
