Can you 'dye' a York stone floor?

It has a glossy finish so looks like we would have to strip a sealant off first.. But does anyone know if it can be done / who would do it?

The colour really doesn't work with what we'd like for the kitchen but if it were grey it would look gorgeous.

Thanks.

No you wouldn't be able to do that. If it has been sealed then that would affect the colour so if you stripped that it might make a difference. You would have to get advice on how to strip if first so not to harm the stone - you can get it professionally done - there is a system call 'Doff' which cleans stone buildings without damage - not sure if that can be used inside however. Yorkstone floors are beautiful - maybe rethink your kitchen choice to help it blend in better?
