I have bought this for my new bathroom in the large double basin size. I would ideally like to get an oversized antiquey ornate/gilt or even venetian sort of mirror to contrast with the modern style of the sink.
sink
anyone have any ideas?

How is the rest of the bathroom going to be styled? If it will all be modern I would probably stay with a modern or plain mirror.

Or how about something with art deco influence, so still made with straight lines but a bit more decorative?

The rest will be quite modern too but I just thought it might look a bit boring with plain mirror. It is going to be fully tiled in large cream tiles with hardly visible grout lines
sort of like these

If you haven't tiled yet, then what I would do is get plain mirror, but have it mounted directly on the wall so it's completely flush with the tiles iyswim. In other words, the mirror replaces the tiles in that area of the wall.

thats a good idea minipie - so the consensus is a plain mirror rather than ornate?

If the rest of the bathroom is modern then I would just have a plain mirror.

The alternative is to go completely the other way and go for a really "wow" ornate mirror that you love and make it the main feature of the room (with everything else very plain). But that only works if you find a mirror you love enough to make the main feature in the room. It could take a lot of looking!
