Where to buy in New Malden - The Groves or Malden Hill/Beverley Park

We don't really know New Malden in general... but moving there anyway because we cannot afford a big house in North Kingston. We're torn between two properties in the above two areas.
Children are still small and staying (for the time being) in prestigious North Kingston primary. With regard to secondaries, our prime suspects are Coombe Girls/Wimbledon College, etc.
The estate agents are trying hard to sell us both areas, but they have a vested interest....
Anyone here to give some unbiased advice?

I can't believe I'm the only one in new Malden! Anyway we moved here couple of years ago from Kingston and are about 5 mins walk from beverley park. I really like this bit of NM. Park is great for little ones. Easy walk into high street, near pool etc. my girls aren't at school yet but Burlington good, if big.

Don't know if groves will be easier though if you're doing school run back to Kingston.

That probably hasn't helped at all.

Hello muststop- glad you've written, almost started giving up.

The situation has changed slightly, we're still moving but the property in the groves is no longer a contender, and we had our offer accepted on the other one, so pls tell me more about malden hill! What's the high street like in the morning? heard that traffic tends to come to a standstill. Can you hear road noise from the A3 or only the roads facing the park have that problem? We plan to send DC3 to a local primary, so any info on Burlington or other primaries is welcome.
I have a million+1 qs but can't think of anymore right now. Hope you'll be back to read this.

We used to live on Coombe Gardens. Very nice. Never noticed road noise from A3 or train noise. Nice neighbours. High street traffic was never a major problem. Burlington is an excellent primary. Secondaries for non-religious boys are a problem but I've heard Coombe Boys is improving.

I grew up in New Malden, my Mum is still there near the station/park. I live in Greenwich but am seriously considering moving back to NM for Coombe Girls, where I attended many moons ago, for my daughter. Also attended Burlington but I am so ancient it is not relevant. My Mum tells me that Burlington is still a sought after primary school. I lived next to the trainline and it is something you get used to. Coombe Hill is "the one" that I would try to get my daughter into if we moved back. Hope that helps?
