Does anyone know any of these areas in Kent

I am looking for a house to rent near Canterbury and have found properties in these areas, does anyone know anything about them - opinions most welcome.
Wye
Boughton Lees
Whitstable
Ickham
Adisham
Hoath
Bossingham

I know Ickham well - very pretty rural village with an excellent pub. Approx 10 minutes drive from Canterbury and I believe it's on a bus route. Lots of nice houses and money in the village (quite a few consultants from Canterbury hospital live there, for example).
I know Wye a little, very pretty and rural too, and has at least one, possibly 2 nice pubs. Small student population due to the agricultural college (part of Imperial College, London) being there (which is a very beautiful building). Wye has a station.
Whitstable is very trendy with a lovely high street (lots of boutiques, gift shops etc as well as the usual stuff) and the beach is very popular. House prices to match.
Adisham is also quite nice and has a station.

That's all great info - I was hoping you would say something bad about one of these areas to make my decision a bit easier but they all sound nice.

I am leaning towards Wye but dh favours Whitstable at the moment - on paper anyway.

I'd prefer Wye myself rather than Whitstable but that's because prefer rural to town. Ickham and Adisham are closer to Canterbury, Wye and Whitstable slightly further but still ok.

Thanks Labracadabra, Adisham is closer but the house has been ruled out as the landlord wants to keep it up for sale even if we rent it and would want us to show buyers around etc - not what I am looking for
