Would you buy a day bed for a small child?.....

I went to look at beds with my 4 yo dd on Saturday, we're giving her bedroom a 'big girl' make-over. She's fallen in love with a metal framed day bed, they are very pretty, but i'm not convinced .

Will i end up selling it on ebay and buying an ordinary divan??

Tell me your experiences good and bad of day beds.

this is the one DD has. It's excellent, good and strong. Actually it's not that dissimilar to the one your DD likes and the ikea one would definitely make a better climbing frame too .

Hetty yes that was the same one i looked at, there's a few on ebay at the moment. I like the design on that one, a bit plainer, she have wrought Iron fairys if she could.

There are no strings of bunting or flower fairy magnets to be found on DD's bed at all. Obviously.

I'm pinked out Mary tbh. We went to pick the paint, i tried my best to coerce steer her towards a pale lime colour. No she wasn't having none of it.

It is quite pale so i'm thankful for small mercys.

My dd has the wooden ikea day bed, without bars, and it turns in to a kingsize with the trundle pulled out. She has had it for years, since about four, without problems.

I think we have Homestore, we don't have more. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet aren't i?, and buy all this shoite overpriced pink tat. Arrgh!
