Handleless kitchens - look good but annoying?

Hi ladies

Looking for some advice. We are getting a new kitchen, and because it's part of a big family room we're tempted by the sleek handleless gloss numbers. But I can't decide whether the handleless drawers/cupboards are going to irritate me - they don't seem that easy to open, or maybe it's just that I need to get used to them?

Do any of you have handleless kitchens? What do you think of them?

Thanks
Mari

One of the first houses we lived in had various handleless wood units, not just in the kitchen but also bath/bed rooms. They were wonderful to look at and functionally brilliant. A combination of simple pull out, or press and open, with safety catches presumably for kids and pets.

If the ones you're considering aren't functionally perfect for you, you realize they're going to irritate you more every time you use them, don't you? If you like the look, find some that give you pleasure every time you use them, is what I'd do. However you may have a better track record of "getting used to them" than I do!

they're glossy? so presumably they'll show finger-marks?

Our new kitchen is handleless and less annoying than the old one. Easier to clean and more convenient to open drawers and cupboards, you can just do it one handed without looking and not have to feel for the handle. We finally settled on an Italian kitchen, cesar we had cream not white though, surprisingly the gloss doesn't show fingerprints unless sun is shining directly on it, but anyway its so easy just to wipe down with an eco cloth. The kitchen wasn't much more expensive than B & Q etc but better quality.

There are two types, simple ones where you open from the edge IYSWIM and ones you press to open. We have the first kind and I love them. They look great and are easy to clean.
