Kids bedroom...

Clearly I can not think for myself as I have yet another decorating thread! I have to decorate the kids room ( boy and girl) under 6 and need something that suits them both. I have no idea where to start but don't want it to be bland. I was thinking cath kidston london fabric for blind then some sort of colour picked up from the fabric on the walls with a kind of greige carpet?

So, if you have decorated mixed sex bedroom, what have you done?

Hi there,

I'm currently moving our two children into a bigger room. We have painted the walls four different colours - pink, pale green, peach & yellow, and painted the ceiling pale blue (for the sky!)

As regards decoration, I've order some decals for the walls - a princess castle for dd, tom & jerry for ds and a couple of mixed ones...

I haven't put them up yet, but am hopeful they will work well. best of luck!

I saw a fantastic book called Childrens Bedrooms in Waterstones. Had some really amazing ideas.

Type 'unisex children's bedrooms' into Google, then click on images - you'll get loads of ideas.

ooh yes, good idea BoBoo, look!

I'm decorating a unisex nursery and after consulting MN (of course) have decided to go for white walls with bright and colourful curtains and pictures.

We have done a elmer the elephant unisex nursery and a
Charlie and Lola bedroom
As unisex themes using all the random stuff from the books like rockets, flowers butterflies space hoppers .
We then laminated them and stuck them up with blue tack.

We have a unisex bedroom. It's nature themed. There's a big shaggy green rug that looks like grass, sky blue walls, cream curtains and then brights everywhere like an irange circle lamp, a red floor pillow, a green and brown tree mural with yellow and dark blue birds on the trees, butterflies, frogs and flowers. We had photos printed of street signs with their names on ('x' Rd/Street/Terrace etc) and fake number plates with their names. Over the bunk beds I made fabric letters from different samples and secured them to the wall with wet paint to make the alphabet.

Green, blue and hot pink patterned drawer knobs in different patterns adorn the chests of drawers too.
