my brand new John Lewis washing machine has been delivered yeeha!
However, I did not pay the extra to have it installed since a) there had been a machine in that space previously and it looked like the relevant pipes were there. b) having paid before and then stood and watched a man attach two ends of a pipe and push the waste pipe into it's outlet I reckoned I would not spend on that again!
But now although there are two ends of pipe coming from the central heating stuff neither is marked as hot or cold, neither has a tap at the end and having tried screwing the washing machine inlet pipe to both and turned the nearest tap this way and that nothing is happening.
Any ideas. Do I need to find another tap somewhere to get the water to run?

The dishwasher is coming this afternoon. No installation paid for there either.

I have a washing mashing machine and dishwasher here aswell, I am getting someone in tomorrow to connect it for me. I think you should do the same.
Or if you do manage to connect them, then I take my hat off to you, because these kind of things just frustrate me.

Have you done it yet?

Right. Having taken delivery of the dishwasher, connected it (YAY!) watched it through a short wash and checked for leaks- none (YAY!) and breathe,
Done the school run, taken DD2 swimming, made dinner, received and put away Tesco grocery delivery and had a bath I'm back.
I have not been able to do the washing machine although I did manage to work out which pipe was the hot one by running the hot tap- thank you google. I'm going to work on it again tomorrow with a pair of pliers and a bucket just in case.
