My OH computor has just crashed losing all our recent unsaved photos! Just got back off a once in a lifetime holiday and all the pictures we took of our newly renovated property. Why oh why did we not back them up?
The virus is called system check and the computor is not operational at all.
Just read up about system check and they can take all our passwords, credit card numbers etc and our identity!
We were placing our property on a lettings website when it crashed and am a little suspicious this virus came from their website?
There was a message saying pay £80 or your computor will crash.
Beware if you see System Check!

Thank you. Never heard of this virus. And so sorry to hear you lost all your photos Sad

PigletJohn · 06/03/2012 13:22

sorry to hear that. What internet security package are you using?

PigletJohn · 06/03/2012 13:26

looking on the 'net, it seems that it is quite well known and your package should be able to remove it provided that you restart the PC in "Safe Mode" first.

It seems to frighten you by changing the screen wallpaper to black and hiding all the icons so you can't see anything except the messages it displays. From what I read it does not actually delete files.

Piglet's right.

If you are not computer savvy take it to pcworld or the like, they should be able to sort the poblem out, its unlikely your stuff has actually been deleted/broken :)

Thanks!
some programmes are back but most of the photo pasges and last years accounts seem to have dissapeared.
Everything seems so slow aswell.
