Hi guys,

Looks like were getting gazumped- see other thread for the full tale of woe. Anyway, trying to see it as an oppertunity dp and I are looking to extend our search area.

We're going to have to rent for a while as are near completions so thought we'd rent in the chosen area for a few months.

Basically, we have exahusted the south cheshire market and are now willing to consider making my commute bigger and dp's a lot smaller.

Dp works in the Royal manchester childrens hospital and I work in a town in cheshire (Northwich).

So any ideas of nice areas, near good schools, near the M56?

Our max budget is £350k but would prefer to spend £315,000. We need a 4 bed house, detatched with shed loads of storage. I like the 1930's style but to be honest just want to find somewhere. Preferabley near to a park and friendly people. We have 2 dd's- 2.7 and 8 months

Thanks (trying really hard to not put my head in the sand thinking our venders will do the right thing and I will get my dream house Sad)

detached

Within walking distance of outstanding primary, easy access to M56/M60/M62

Try again! On PC now...

£305k detached within walking distance of "outstanding" primary, easy access to M56/M60/M62. Looks like it needs a bit of work (new bathroom, ditch the pineapple-shaped trees Grin) but room to extend at back.

Oh, just seen your other gazumped thread - it's not immaculate! But it isn't on an estate.

thanks- thats really nice- dp and his quest for perfection Angry

He'll only get perfection if he perfects the house himself Grin so aim under budget then update to your own tastes.

PM me if you like, I'm in Cheshire.

Or Lymm or Appleton?

mogwai · 05/03/2012 16:20

I'm in Appleton and a total property buff so know this area well. Have a look on right move at Appleton, Grappenhall, Stockton Heath and come back.

FWIW my husband also worked at the Manchester Royal Infirmary and the commute was fine if he left at 7.15. We are ideally placed for you working in Northwich.

mogwai · 05/03/2012 16:24

Just a thought, have you considered Comberbach?

For the price you quote, you won't get so much in worth Warrington. I have known several people in the same position who have moved to Comberbach because the prices are cheaper. It's quite a sweet place and has a village primary and shop. You'd be 5-10 mins from junction 10 of the M56

HollyGoHeavily · 05/03/2012 16:31

How about Holmes Chapel - one junction down the M6 from the M56 and easily about 15-20 minutes away from Northwich.

You could buy this for example

ripsishere · 05/03/2012 17:40

D'ya know I was in Holmes Chapel yesterday. lovely place and phenomenally well placed for motorway access.
Coop has a confusing door confiuguration though.

Mandy21 · 05/03/2012 22:12

How bizarre, I have a friend who lives on that road in Holmes Chapel. She has school children there, loves it, lots going on, very good results.

ScoobyDooWhereAreYou · 06/03/2012 01:10

Love Holmes Chapel. Fantastic schools: 2 x primary and an outstanding high school. Loads in the village and around. Plus Harry Styles & John Bishop - something for everyone!
