noisy shower pump

Does anyone have any experience insulating a shower pump? Ours is very efficient but noisy. Is there a top tip for muffling the noise?

Where is it sited? On the floor?

Yes, though on carpet in an eaves cupboard.
We have another one, equally noisy, on the floor of the airing cupboard, also on carpet.

We put ours on a paving slab, then carpet, then another paving slab and carpet!!! Also the pump has little rubber feet on it!
