My husband and I are looking for a flat(apartment) to buy. Is Royal Arsnal good to live? What is the image of the new development?

By the way our budget is 200k to 250k for 1 or 2 bedroom flat. We look for security, new facilities and transportation.

I know someone living in the development and her complaint was that there's no local park as such to bring her kids to. She also said there's a lot of council housing that will be built next to it (you have to check this out, I have no idea if that is true or whether it should or will bother you). Woolwich is uh... very... urban. It was quite badly affected during the riots (they burnt down a pub around the corner of the square). I used to live up Shooters Hill so got the bus to Woolwich Arsenal to commute into London. If you are living there, your transport will be fairly straightforward, a 5-minute walk to the station and then another 20-25 minutes into London Bridge/Charing Cross. I have to say I don't feel Woolwich is very safe in itself, and I don't think it has improved in the time I lived there (only moved away 6 months ago) though they spent a lot of money on the square to try and make it look nice. For £200-£250k, you can get a 3-bedroom house in Plumstead (also SE18 and 5-10 minutes away) so you will be paying a premium for it being a new development. If you have any other questions, ask away! Lived there for almost 5 years and now still in SE postcode not that far away.
