Condensing boiler fitting & prices

Hi,

I'm in France which seems to me to be more expensive for this kind of thing, and to the west of Paris, so a fairly pricey area, and I am being quoted for removing an old boiler, and supplying & installing a new 30W condensing boiler with a 150l hot water tank thing. To install the boiler they do need to cut a hole through a wall as I understand it, but the boiler is against the outside wall. Also, the former owner of the house has already put 1 300? towards these works which is deducted from the quote.

The total is 5000 ?, including vat, so that's a total of give or take 5000 pounds if you add back in the former owner's cheque.

Does anyone know if they are blatantly having a laugh or if this is par for the course for France?

Very boring sorry.

I don't know what French prices are like but in the UK they'd be having a laugh. We were recently quoted about £1,800 for a new combi boiler and I paid £3k a few years ago for a new boiler, hot water tank and controller.
